Hi Friends,

Last month during my yearly eye exam it was discovered that I had a torn retina in my left eye. When I asked if it was serious they said they were scheduling me for laser surgery the following morning. Amazingly I didn’t experience the normal warning signs. There were no flashes of light or noticeable vision changes. Afterwards I began to realize the blessings and just how fortunate I was that the retina hadn’t become detached. I was blessed to have scheduled, and kept my yearly appointment. And I’m blessed to live in an age of laser surgery where I could continue a normal lifestyle immediately.

As is my way, I began to pray over what had happened and what I could learn from it. I immediately realized that I was four weeks into a nine week run of events where my focus has been on recognizing God’s beauty through nature.

During the past month I’ve really championed God’s creation but never once took into consideration that it could only be achieved by the miraculous gift of sight.

Sheepishly I now have the opportunity to share my brokenness in maybe taking that gift for granted.

Call me, text me, tweet me, message me, email me, write me… we’ve been brought together by God for a reason.

As always, remember you can send an anonymous email to for prayers and encouragement.

Pray on,

The three-step release of the ‘Worship in Spirit and Truth’ album is scheduled to begin on September 07, 2018 with the ‘Worship in Spirit EP’. This will be followed by the ‘Worship in Truth EP’ on September 21, 2018. The EP’s will only be available on the website. The ‘Worship in Spirt and Truth’ album will drop everywhere on October 5, 2018.

It’s been quite some time since I released any new songs for the church and I’m really excited about this project. Some of these songs have become a staple of my worship events over the past three years and so I’ve seen how God has used them in the lives of others. And now I look forward to sharing them with all of you!

After the Storm

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Phil 4:7 ESV)

There’s a sense of calm that engulfs me right now. I know that it’s temporary, but I’m enjoying it none the less. My heart and mind feel amazingly peaceful, almost what I imagine would be heavenly.

After any storm comes a settling calm, and it’s in the calm that I’m currently residing. If you’ve ever tried to describe such a place, you know how difficult it is to find the words. That’s because it’s a peace which surpasses all understanding.

If I’m unable to understand it, then I’m unable to explain it!

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. (John16:33 ESV)

We need to reconcile that peace is a fragile moment of time that can disappear in a heartbeat. We’d do well to never take it for granted.

Overcoming the trials of this world is a lifelong challenge. We face trials daily, and sometimes even hourly. They can knock the wind out of us quickly and without warning. On our own we’re doomed to fail. On our own we look for worldly cures and strength, but there aren’t any sufficient answers or fixes to be found here.

The only way to maneuver through the maze of this world is with the One who has gone before us, with the One who has successfully found His way through. On our own we’ll spend a lifetime of running into dead ends and repeating the same mistaken choices and never finding our way out.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27 ESV)

The calm I have is heaven sent, the peace I’m experiencing is beyond understanding, and the only way out of this maze is through Him.
