Staying in touch with your inner child can provided an endless supply of inspiration. It also removes the self made barriers that we tend to build as we mature. The whole world opens up when you allow your creative mind to have its way.
Living with my wife for quite some time now has rubbed off in some pretty creative ways for me. I’m thankful for that and look forward to the inspirations that are yet to come.

This mid-afternoon shadow was out in front of my journey, it was almost daring me to take the next step. So I did! The Shadow Before Me, is an open invitation, it could be the first step of faith or a friendly traveling companion, but most importantly, it’s an opportunity to be creative!

Love Strands drops on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2020. It’s a collection of gospel-tinged songs that live in a blues neighborhood. All twelve tracks are culturally and spiritually inspired. I’ve really enjoyed recording and introducing the songs over the past few months. It’s my prayer that they would bring some comfort and clarity to those who hear them.

Besides the release of the Love Strands album, I’ve found myself settling into my southern digs, and designing a creative nest in which to continue writing and recording.
The calendar is sparse until the spring as my wife (Susan) and I enjoy our little beach community. Fortunately for us, it’s a little haven of spiritual inspiration. There are numerous strands of love that flow throughout the days and nights here, we count ourselves blessed on a daily basis!

This cross is happenstance in our court. It was not in my design or my intention but none-the-less appeared to me not too long after it was finished. The artist who created the area in question was not to my knowledge a follower of Jesus, but certainly showed signs of being a spiritual man. Whether he left a message in his work or not I’ll never know. In fact, I don’t really need to know. And that being the case, the question of happenstance now becomes one of His design.
The fourth song released from the ‘Love Strands’ project. A song inspired by Psalm 103:2 ‘Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.’

An aging train trestle found on an inlet in Brevard County, Florida. A frequent haven for sea cows (manatees), it remains a quiet waterway nestled among the historic town of Old Melbourne. The bridge is still in use with quite a bit of freight train traffic. In a world of growing violence and senseless attacks, the simple message with the powerful request is what first caught my eye. Though in retrospect, the appeal seems to incorporate a lot more than that!
