What do you enjoy most about writing?
I really enjoy writing as a way to serve creation. I find myself almost daily moved to share the beauty and diversity that’s on display. For me, the satisfaction is in the communication, the entertaining, lifting or enlightening possibility… if only just for a moment.
What is a word you feel that too many people use?
I just hate to hear someone say I can’t. As in, I can’t do this; I can’t do that; I can’t say that. In a world of ambiguity that word just rings of negativity. Whenever I hear some say I can’t, I hear God say I can.
When you move irrelevant
When you’re the hued elephant
When you hear yourself exclaiming, “I can’t!”
Walk in Canaan

What are you curious about?
I’m curious as to how the world became so adverse to diversity. We live in a world that’s comprised of different views, different, likes and dislikes, lets call it different colors. And it’s all this diversity that creates all the beauty that surrounds us. If you start to pull the various colors out of the rainbow it’s not as brilliant anymore. My prayer would be that we’d find a connection to what we have in common, and relish in our creative differences.

How would you describe yourself to someone who can’t see you?
I’ve always had an affinity for the old black and white westerns from the late fifties and early sixties. So I’d like to think that being a cowboy in the badlands might describe who I am. After all what I do, will always speak louder than what I say.
You call me cowboy
You call me cowboy in the badlands
In the desert; in the barrens; in the wasteland

What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?
Now that I think about it, I don’t think that I’ve dismissed any of my parents traditions… and that makes me smile. You would have thought that I’d have discounted at least a few, but that’s not the case. Then again I’m really big on passing along culture.
Silhouettes sprinkle the horizon

It’s the only world that they know

If you could bring back one dinosaur, which one would it be?
I freely admit, I googlized this, as my knowledge of dinosaurs is very limited, but the Stegosaurus would be my choice as it’s recognized as the friendlist, and it’s herbivorous. I guess the last thing the world needs is the return of a dinosaur, but if it happened I’d want the most compassionate one I could find.
Down in the valley together
Down in the valley with love by our side
Down in the valley together
My imposition crucified

What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?
My father imparted some wonderful nuggets of wisdom in his time. Not the least was that if I ever wanted to be happy in this life, I needed to find a way to deal with all the trappings of this world, that there were always going to be problems and that I needed to find a way to deal with them. Over the years I have, though not without collecting some scars along the way, but I find myself embracing those words every single day. It’s why I’m a faithful man, I’d be a pretty unhappy guy most of the time without it. Thanks Pop!

There’s another, and another, and another too!
There’s always a reason to quit
I was warned, I was warned, I was warned what to expect
You gotta learn to deal with it
~ E.M.
What’s your go-to comfort food?
There are three foods that seductively wink at me whenever they can. They wink at me in a way that weakens my knees, and certainly my constitution. One in particular has been know to actually lead me astray from time to time. The temptress in question… dark chocolate.
What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?
Oddly enough I’ve only now realized that I’ve left a pastime or two behind. I used to be an avid simulation player. Games in general that simulated life were always of interest to me. But that portion of life seems to have faded away as my enjoyment in all things that are spiritually creative now takes up the focus of my days.
